The Downsides Of A Long Engagement

Today, I’m continuing my conversation with Kaitlin and Nick. Last week was part 1 of their wedding planning journey, so if you haven’t listened to that yet, hit pause and start there. Last week, they talked about choosing a wedding venue on the opposite side of the country from their family and friends, and this week, they share the pros and cons of having a long engagement.

They had the right idea, with the goal that a long engagement would give them time to plan and save, and for family to plan to their travel, but in the end, life doesn’t stop for wedding planning. They share what it was like for both of them to change jobs, and all of the planning fatigue and self-care dilemmas that came along with it. I don’t think you’ll hear a more honest and real conversation about what it’s like to be engaged and the feeling of just waiting for the wedding to happen already.
